Original Watercolor Artist
|
A little about me ... My name is Bob Jones and I am a watercolor artist. I love what I do and hope you enjoy my paintings.
Watercolor paintings present a unique challenge as results are unpredictable and exciting. As an
watercolor artist I try to capture details which are hard to achieve. Things happen quickly --
the paper is wet, the watercolor goes on and runs where it wants. The artist has some
control but not complete. Areas dry with streaks and edges that cannot be
planned but that add a character of their own. My joy as a watercolor artist is that even I do not know
what the final painting will look like. I hope you enjoy my watercolor paintings as much as I did in
creating them.

The Passion of a Watercolor Artist
|
|
As an artist I do not merely want to show you a photograph (that is for cameras). I
want my watercolor paintings to inspire thoughtful contemplation and invoke a mood. My job is
to be relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Art should take you away from the
current moment and send you on a journey of discovery. During a recent trip to the Alamo I spent time
photographing the cracks and fissures of individual bricks. I did quick sketches to capture their color.
I wanted to capture the feeling of actually being at this historic battle. I want you to wonder did Crockett
stand here? Did Travis lean against this wall? What would I have done had I been there? If my
watercolor paintings inspire you to see old things in a new light then I have succeeded as an artist.
